Black Beauty
The Black Beauty mold was introduced in 1979 and has a round "Breyer Molding Co." stamp, and some (but not all) of the early models have the "B" stamp as well. The name "Black Beauty" was taken from the classic book Black Beauty: The Autobiography of a Horse by Anna Sewell. Interestingly, a #89 Black Beauty was the first model produced in Breyer's New Jersey factory. Several other molds have models with the "Black Beauty" name as well: Fury Prancer, Morganglanz, Silver (twice), Western Horse, Western Pony (twice), and the Classic scale Black Beauty (also twice) and the Warmblood Stallion. The Black Beauty mold was sculpted by Chris Hess and is Breyer Model #89.
A symbol means that I don't yet have a picture of that model. If you can help, please see the Help Wanted section. Clicking on any photo below will open a larger version of that picture.
